"It meant a great deal"

About: Craigavon Area Hospital / Blossom Ward (Paediatrics)

(as a service user),

My baby needed a line put in his hand prior to a scan. We had to go to a short stay room in the blossom ward. While the doctor was putting the line in, a nurse from the blossom ward helped and she tried to distract my baby. The nurse (who’s name I didn’t catch) sang to my son to calm him down while the line was being put in. I was very impressed that despite there being 3 other medical staff and myself in the room, the nurses main priority was keeping my boy calm. It may have only be something simple but it meant a great deal to me and showed the love and care the nurse has towards little ones.

Hello EmM3

Its lovely to read your feedback, I'm glad that your son's needs were put first and foremost also that the nurse's actions had a calming effect during what could be a stressful time for your son. Its wonderful to hear that such a simple gesture had such a positive effect on the whole experience.

Thank you for taking the time to leave such lovely feedback, I will be sure to share this with all the staff in Blossom

Kind regards

Stephanie
