Had my COVID booster and flu vaccination today at Ingliston, NHS Lothian. I turned up early for my appointment but didn’t enter the building until shortly before my appointment time as instructed. I then queued for one hour and 50 minutes before getting to the vaccinator, 38 minutes of which was standing and the remainder in sitting queues.
All the staff seemed to be doing their best, but keeping people waiting that long, particularly forcing some very elderly and infirm people to stand for so long, was completely unacceptable. I overheard a staff member saying that the only people they had been told to fast track were those in NHS wheelchairs, as they were short of wheelchairs. I was furious at the bad management which had resulted in elderly people being treated like this.
