"Good practice, poor GP"

The reception and triage nurse themselves were good. I got an appointment quickly and they took my concerns seriously and booked me an appointment with the GP for follow up.

The GP was very disinterested, called me paranoid and talked over me when I tried to explain my symptoms. He talked about himself and his experience with a recent illness and said “I’m older than you and I got over it”, which felt very insensitive. I’d worried about a potentially more serious side effect of a cold that I wanted reassurance about. He talked down to me as though I’d only called to ask for antibiotics, but when I repeatedly told him that I DO NOT want them and had to check about a symptom, he dismissed me and repeated the spiel about antibiotics. In all it felt like he wasn’t interested and treated me like a time waster from the moment I called.
