On Thu 23rd Sept I presented myself to the 'minor Injuries unit' in Stirling with broken ankle at approx 1000.
I was helped at the front entrance by a volunteer who got me a wheelchair and directed me to the front desk reception.
As I was from England the staff made out a Scottish NHS Number and booked me in for treatment. Very efficient and helpful.
I had to wait a short time before being seen by a nurse Laura.
She assessed the ankle then sent me to X-ray to check on injury.
Once quickly assessed she then placed my ankle in a supporting cast, gave me some medication and advice on use and provided me with crutches. She was most efficient, professional and attentive. I was in and out of the hospital in around three hours. Most impressed.
A few days later while back in England I received two phone calls from Laura to make sure my treatment was working and advice on future treatment. She also sent on discharge note to my local hospital for said future treatment. Again, very impressed by the care shown.
I would like to express my sincerest appreciation to all staff at the 'minor injuries unit Stirling for their superb service, care and consideration. They are a credit to the NHS.
With thanks.
