I was admitted to A&E. An assessor called to my home first before requesting an ambulance. The assessor cared for me until the ambulance arrived. I had called 999 earlier in the week but the assessor said I did not need to be admitted even though I felt I should have been. I was unable to leave my bed due to low oxygen levels so my daughter called ambulance on Saturday. The non-emergency ambulance was in another area so I had to wait 90 minutes before it arrived. Once I arrived in A&E I was seen within 30 minutes and given my own room. A&E was very busy and I was ignored and I had to keep making requests such as a blanket or a cup of tea/water.
I was admitted to 2 south and really impressed with how caring and gentle the staff are. The staff keep me informed on my treatment and even wrote my medication on a piece of paper so I can tell my daughter who is a nurse at another hospital. I am 100% happy with the care provided and the food is great quality, it just like being in a hotel.
