"I became very unwell in the early hours of the morning"

About: Borders General Hospital / Accident & Emergency Borders General Hospital / Intensive & Critical Care Scottish Ambulance Service / Emergency Ambulance

(as a service user),

I took the weekend off to travel down to the borders and help my daughter to move into Halls in Galashiels. I became very unwell in the early hours of Monday morning and had to wake my friend who called an Ambulance.

I arrived in A&E very unwell, breathless and hypotensive.

Don't remember very much except waking up in intensive care, I had had a horrendous time. I had septicemia.

But I cannot express enough thanks to all the staff involved in my care from the outset. The calm reassurance, given to both myself and my daughter and friend was humbling. As a retired staff Nurse I am in awe of what you guys do with things being what they are just now.

Eternally grateful

Dear Lindajane24

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback on CareOpinion. I am so sorry to hear about you taking unwell while away helping your daughter. That must have been terrifying, for her too. To end up in Intensive Care sounds awful. Septicemia, as you know, is extremely serious and I am so pleased that you are ok.

It is lovely to hear that you were cared for well and thank you for passing on your thanks. I would be more than happy for this feedback to be passed onto the crew so they know you are doing fine. If you would like for this to happen, all we would need is the date, time and location that the vehicle attended you and your name. This can be emailed to sas.feedback@nhs.scot. If you do decide to do this, would you be kind enough to make reference to your CareOpinion username as this will allow the team member to easily link the case

Either way I hope you are feeling much better and I wish you all the best

Kind Regards

Alan
