"A & E"

About: Southport & Formby District General Hospital

I had to attend A&E at the instruction of my GP as he thought I had a clot on my right lung.

I was treated speedily and with great care and would like to express my gratitude to those involved.

After seeing the triage nurses, I was moved to what used to be the Oncology Suite for further care. I was met there by 5 young ladies, all with differing and various skills and was encouraged to relax. The nurse who appeared to be in charge then talked me through what was going to happen regards blood test, xray's etc and I was very happy with this especially as I was a little concerned at the time.

As the treatment progressed, the blood tests results returned and the xray was also available. When each blood test result was available, these were explained to me in detail and on inspection of the xray I was informed that I had a slight infection in my lower right lung and, the blood test had been returned with negative results and I was discharged. That was a relief as I did not want to take up any more time than was absolutely necessary and I departed for home.

I would be extremely grateful if my thanks could be passed to the staff who looked after me on Tuesday 7th September and to say how wonderful and attentive they were in their care for me.
