"Lack of information"

About: King George Hospital

My wife was taken in by ambulance with abdomen pain and sickness. Queens was too busy, so she was taken to King Georges despite them not having a Gastro dept. She is currently on Heather Ward. As I can’t visit at the moment due to covid, I rang the ward to ask if I could arrange an appointment to talk to the doctor about diagnosis. But was told it wasn’t possible.

Thank you for taking the time to provide me with your feedback, I am so sorry to hear the concerns that you have raised. Please contact our Patient Advice and Liaison Service and they will be able to help arrange with the ward for a doctor to contact you to provide you with an update regarding your wife's progress. I am so sorry to hear that whoever you spoke to on the ward advised you this was not possible. I will also be discussing your feedback with the Senior Sister for our Heather Ward. Our Patient Advice and Liaison Service can be contacted on bhrut.pals@nhs.net or by phone, 01708 435 454.

Kind Regards

Juliet Kumar, Divisional Director of Nursing Care of the Elderly
