"Outstanding care"

About: Pinderfields General Hospital

I brought my 91 year old mother-in-law to A&E to check out changes to her sight. All the staff were extremely helpful and promptly actioned involvement by colleagues to ensure she had the best assessment of her condition. She had a thorough examination and rapid referral to the Eye Centre for further investigation. The doctor who checked her sight in A&E went above and beyond our expectations to ensure we were seen by the Eye Centre on a very busy day.

We then experienced similarly high levels of care at the Eye Centre with a further scan to be arranged in the next week or two and we should be put in touch with an Eye Clinic Liaison Officer for on-going support and advice.

It was an amazing experience to achieve so much so quickly and to feel we are in the best possible care. Thank you!

Thank you for taking the time to post your comments regarding both you and your mother-in-law's recent experience.

I am really pleased to read how staff were helpful and promptly co-ordinated your mother-in-law's care with other colleagues. To read words as "amazing experience" is exactly what all of our staff strive to achieve "excellent patient experience each and every time".

I have shared your kind words to staff in both departments as I know how much your feedback will mean to them.

Thank you again and I hope your mother-in-law is recovering well.

Kind regards

Clare Blackburn

(Head of Patient Experience)
