"Visit to the minor injuries unit"

About: The Ulster Hospital / Emergency Department

(as a service user),

My son is rather accident prone, he returned home from school trip with an injury to his hand. I rang ED being reluctant to take him due to waiting times and knowing there are seriously ill people needing that space. Staff in ED advised me that minor injuries was open until 20.30 if we could attend there.

We arrived, got booked in, seen within 5 minutes, sent for an xray which was also done in less than 5 minutes, back to be reviewed by nurse practitioner Linda, advice given, fingers strapped up and review appointment made. We left the unit less then half an hour after arriving.

An absolutely fabulous service provided with kindness and a smile too.

Hi Hinges21

Thank you for telling us of your sons experience after attending the minor injuries service at the Ulster hospital. I will share your kind comments with Lynda and the Minors team who will really appreciate them.

Hope your son soon recovers from his injury.

Kind regards

Jenny
