"Inaccessible service"

About: Churchtown Medical Centre

I rang surgery 8am this morning. On hold for 35 minutes i was told by receptionist, there are no appointments today. Told her i have a urine infection. I know that it is that, as i have a urostomy. In no uncertain terms she said, phone 111. So in pain, i have to get the bus to A+E to sit for hours, to get seen to by a doctor.

Thank you for your feedback. We are truly sorry to hear that we were not able to provide you with an appointment at the surgery and that your experience with us has not met the high standard of service we always aim to provide.

Over the last two year general practice have worked closely with other services to make sure patients can be signposted when unable to be seen in the surgery due to capacity.

At present we are able to signpost patients to multiple other services which have been put in place to simply support all the GP practices in the area with the ever-increasing demand. Some of these services include but are not limited to , Pharmacy consultation, our extended 7Day GP service who provide multiple face to face and telephone DR/ANP/PN/HCA appointments and can be booked in advance , same day Winter Hub GP response face to face based at the hospital etc.

We would love to make sure all our patients are seen within a timely manner so please do not hesitate to ask if we can signpost you to one of the above services in the future.

If we can be of further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact the surgery on 01704 224411
