A few days ago I was walking up to my friend's house when I suddenly fell and hurt my arm. It was really sore so my friend drove me up to the emergency department at about 9am. I was in the emergency department for a few hours- not too long really- and everything was great. I got an x-ray of my arm taken and it was such a new machine it's nothing like I had seen before- the new technology is amazing these days. The staff were so attentive and I soon got transferred up to the stroke and rehab ward.
I cannot fault anyone or anything since I have been here on the ward! Every staff member from the doctors, nurses, porters and all the other staff on the ward have been wonderful. The nurses are so good to me, anything I ask for they get for me, they really do care. The other night I was a little cold, I'm just a cold person in general, and they immediately brought me an extra blanket when I asked for one. The food has actually been delicious and that's coming from me- a bit of a picky eater. The nurses even offered me brown toast when they saw that I wasn't eating the white toast- they're so good I didn't even have to ask.
Since being on the ward I feel like staff are being very thorough with their investigations, I have had blood tests, x-rays, a head CT and some other things I can't even remember. They confirmed that the only thing wrong with me was that I had a fractured elbow so I have a cast on which nearly covers my whole arm. But I'm glad there's nothing else wrong. I am hoping to get home soon once all of my tests come back clear, although I really have enjoyed being on the ward.
"A wonderful experience"
