"Emergency c section for our first baby"

About: Borders General Hospital / Maternity care

(as the patient),

I was due to have a csection on the Thursday but ended up having to go in for an emergency section on the Monday before due to preeclampsia (high blood pressure was the problem! ) and the midwives, doctors and nurses etc were so friendly and caring. I can imagine and understand how people find these experiences overwhelming and traumatic but the kindness and help from each staff member we came across throughout this experience made it far from traumatic and it truly was the best day of our lives welcoming our daughter into the world! I’ve never felt so relaxed and comfortable around ‘strangers’ before and I would love to be able to thank each and every one of them for supporting us when we needed it. We are so lucky! So thank you to all on ward 16 at the BGH and the entire delivery team who performed my section! Lots of love x: )

Thank you so much dannipeanut for taking the time to give us some lovely feedback.

It can be such a stressful time for new parents and to hear you felt relaxed and comfortable is our ultimate aim!

I'm delighted you have had such a positive experience within the unit and I will be sure to pass on your kind comments to the whole team. I hope you are settling into life as a new family and enjoying your new baby.

Kind regards

Claire
