"Mums delayed discharge"

About: South Lanarkshire University Health and Social Care Partnership University Hospital Monklands / Care of the Elderly (Wards 14,20,22)

(as a carer),

Mum was admitted to Monklands hospital with a urine infection on mid July, she improved and was ready for discharge at the beginning of August, since then we have been trying to get care at home with no success, constantly offered Stonehouse hospital which is not an option for my 86 year old dad to be able to get to visit.

The social work have been very difficult to contact & every day the same outcome no care! It’s now almost 6 wks mum has been in a hospital bed with seldom & random physio to get her walking so her legs are getting weaker, surely this is costing much more to the nhs in the long term.
