"First Class care getting COVID vaccination"

About: NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde / Covid Vaccination Programme

(as a service user),

My daughter is 13, yesterday she received her first COVID-19 vaccination at a drop in clinic.

The senior nurse who administered her injection was fantastic, she spoke directly to my daughter in clear detail at her level, was kind and caring, helped her understand risk factors without alarming her, and made the process entirely relaxed and simple.

I am extremely proud of our National Health Service, and the workers who are tirelessly repeating the same tasks for the millions of people in the UK, and still manage to find ways to connect to people and smile.

Dear markaitken

Thank you very much for sharing your feedback on care opinion. I was so pleased to read that your 13 year old daughter has now had her first covid-19 vaccination and equally delighted to read that her experience was so positive.

Our staff appreciate that patients coming for the vaccine can be feeling worried and unsure, and it is great that the staff took the time to explain the process to your daughter and put you both at ease. Sometimes we parents can also feel overwhelmed in such circumstances and worry about our children and I am glad to read you were entirely satisfied.

It will be my pleasure to share your lovely post with the staff involved and thanks again for sharing.

Kind regards.

Lesley

Hi Lesley,

Thank you for your reply.

I didn't highlight above, and I think I might have chosen the wrong authority, that my daughter was seen at the Donald Dewar venue in Drumchapel, Glasgow.

Thank you for sharing that with the staff involved.

Kind regards,

Dear Markaitken

I note that Lesley has already responded to your response. Thanks for confirming that it was the Donald Dewar Centre in Drumchapel and I will forward this to the Vaccination Team. It's always good when we can share such positive feedback with the staff and let them know that there hard work and kindness are appreciated.

Best wishes

Nicole
