I came into the direct assessment unit on Sunday and was admitted for an emergency Caesarean section. I felt like the whole admissions process was very smooth, and even though I was moved around a few different wards-to the midwife led unit and the labour ward- I felt like everything was very organised. After my c-section I was brought up to the maternity ward and since being here everything has been great- the staff are absolutely lovely! I’ve only eaten lunch here but the soup was actually lovely.
I would just like to mention, everything since I came in to give birth has been wonderful, but some of my antenatal appointments were a bit of a mess. In the beginning of my pregnancy I had to come in through the emergency department for maternity related issues because I was told I couldn’t book an appointment as I hadn’t had my 12 week scan yet, and I was waiting around 12/13 hours there. Also on one other occasion I arrived for my appointment, left my notes at reception and waited to be called for 2 hours to find that my notes had been misplaced. They did find my notes and my appointment went ahead but I do think the organisation could be improved.
