I have been in hospital for the last 12 days in the Trauma Ward of Craigavon Hospital. My operation was cancelled twice and I have found that the ward is very short staffed which I believe impacts the care all the patients are receiving.
Apart from this, the nurses are brilliant. In particular the three sisters who cared for me. They are just so gentle and lovely and display such immense empathy while under such pressure. The healthcare assistants and domestic services staff bring so much joy to the ward and they are so much part of the team as they are so positive and bring a smile to your face.
My consultant was so caring and kind. They spoke so simply and I really trusted them with all aspects of my care. They are very skilled and I am very grateful for the care I received from them.
All the staff members I came into contact with have been so helpful and attentive but they are under such immense pressure and I wish there were more staff to help lighten their workload.
