I was admitted to ward 212 in July 2021. I was in a 3 bedded ward which was extremely nice and the staff looked after me and the other women in the room 100%. There was 2 members of staff that stuck out for me and if I saw them again I would thank them for there time towards everyone in that room visitors and patients.
In my room also there was a bariatric lady who needed some great encouragement and the 2 members of staff that was there everyday during my care was Katie and Lewis. Between them both they encouraged, organised, made us at ease and also showed the bariatric lady so much support I could see why they do they job they do. They was both extremely nice to my husband and also to the lady’s mother who’s was an elderly woman.
After a few days we didn’t see them again and I asked a member of staff where they where and I was told that they might have days off, the member of staff also reminded me of there names.
The Covid - 19 pandemic has given hospitals a bad light in recent months due to restrictions not easing as quick as they are in the outside world, having staff like they do in ward 212, gives you a sense of hope that team work does make things much better. You could clearly see that Katie and Lewis have an extremely strong friendship and it showed when they are giving care to there patients.
I wish Katie and Lewis all the best the best for there future and to all the staff in ward 212. I don’t hope to be back but I’d stay again.
