My Little boy was admitted  with Croup, wheezy and struggling. Had some steriods observed for a couple hours then sent home as he was looking much better. The following  night he was struggling again,  by the morning could hardly lift his head constantly coughing and breathing fast. Ambulance took us to sick kids. Where we were taken straight in, every staff member we dealt with were reassuring and compassionate. Staff nurses were clearly busy but spent time with my little boy who was very traumatised by the spacer used to administer his inhalor. After more steriods, inhalors, paracetamol, ibuprofen to control his temp we were moved to a short stay ward. Again the staff were excellent, felt well informed through our time which help to reduce my anxiety.

We're so sorry it's take a while to reply to you.

What a worry you will have had with you wee lad so poorly that he needed to come to hospital twice, it sounds like he was really struggling at home.

We were so pleased to read that when he returned to RHC you were both treated compassionately and with attentive care both in our Emergency Department and within our Clinical Decisions Unit particularly given the challenges of the treatment he was receiving.

We can share that both our Chief Nurse and our Director have personally thanked the teams as well as sharing your own kind words with them. Thank you so much for taking the time to feedback to us, it is genuinely appreciated by us all.

We hope your wee boy is now feeling so much better.
