I injured my shoulder over two years ago and finally saw an orthopaedic consultant in March this year. I was advised I was to have an MRI then I would be seen again in clinic to discuss the findings and make a plan.
I had my MRI in May and have finally been seen again today. However, I was made to endure a 40 mile round trip journey even though I can barely drive due to the pain in my shoulder despite my local hospital being 5 mins away.
I waited 27 mins over my appointment time to be seen and was then in the room with the registrar for a total of 8 minutes in which I was told my MRI showed extensive damage but needed discussed with the consultant to decide what to do....therefore what was the point in that appointment?
I was not listened to when I explained how much pain I was in and how it was affecting my life. Instead I was continually told he needed to wait to speak to the consultant - not taking on board anything I was saying.
I was put through a lot of pain and distress for no reason whatsoever which has left me even more angry and let down than I already have been.
"Waste of time"
