"Grazed knee"

About: Crawley Hospital / Urgent treatment centre South East Coast Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust / NHS 111

(as a service user),

My stupid dog pulled me over and I grazed my knee on gravel. The next day the redness was growing. Contacted my GP and the receptionist advised me to go to Crawley Hospital (as the surgery do not have the right type of dressings.) I called 111 and the message stated that they were busy and recommended using the online 111 services.  I did this and it said visit GP today, or alternatives. I took myself off to the UTC.

At the UTC the receptionists were very helpful and friendly, even though it was quite busy (this was a Wednesday afternoon). Time on the board was a 1.5 hour wait.

I was called in and my wound was cleaned and a special dressing put on. Advice was given. Big-up to Natalie who was simply wonderful.

I was in and out within the hour.

Thank you to the staff for patching me up.
