I attended UCC due to swelling around my ear and jaw. I was self isolating due to being pinged by the NHS. I rang UCC the day before asking if I could come in to get checked over and was told to ring 111. I did so was told to go to UCC. When I arrived I tried telling them about being on day 8 of self isolation due to being classed as a close contact and got cut off before even finishing. I had done a lateral flow test before going and it was negative just like the previous two I had done. 2 hours pass waiting to be seen by the doctor and I get taken in to a room where I had to explain the above to a nurse. Another nurse came in after and was very hostile towards me. Didn’t have a look to see if I have an infection in my ear or throat just told me to ride it out as my body is fighting an infection! Then began questioning me on why I had a lanyard to show that I was exempt from wearing a mask. I told her my reasons why and was immediately told that is not a valid reason. I have mental health problems and I left UCC feeling humiliated and like I was the person in the wrong. I made every attempt at telling them my situation and was brushed off and sent from pillar to post.
