"Mastectomy"

About: Queen Margaret Hospital / Breast care service Queen Margaret Hospital / Day Surgery Queen Margaret Hospital / General Surgery Queen Margaret Hospital / Medical Oncology

(as the patient),

I was diagnosed with  breast cancer in 2019 and I cannot thank all the staff for their help through this time.   Special thanks to Yvonne, Natalie and Lucy for all their care and advice which was gratefully received and are absolutely brilliant at their job.   The staff in the outpatients at Queen Margaret along with the ultrasound department do an amazing job their care was massively appreciated.   I had a left mastectomy on the 3rd May.   Prior to surgery I was seen at pre assessment, Ali was excellent.   The day surgery at the Queen Margaret was also fantastic.   Mr Cartledge, Breast Consultant, who performed my operation, what can I say he was superb.   Very caring and has his patients wellbeing at the forefront.   The theatre staff where also great.   I would also like to thank Dr Michie (medical oncologist) and Dr MacLennan  for all their care and attention, for explaining everything at detail and for putting me at ease.   Thanks to everyone who helped me through what was a very traumatic time.

Dear Marycar

Thank you so much for your kind words. I am delighted that the service you received from all our teams has been of so much benefit for you during what can be a very worrying time and was delivered with care and compassion.

The teams continue to work hard to support all our patients facing a cancer diagnosis and subsequent treatments to ensure that they have a positive patient experience throughout their journey with cancer.

It is always fantastic to hear that patients are getting a good service and your post is greatly appreciated.

Wishing you all the best in your ongoing recovery.

Kind Regards

Murdina
