About: North Devon District Hospital / Covid Vaccination Programme

(as the patient),

It was packed. What’s the point in booking an appointment when there is no priority given to people with appointments? When did social distancing rules relax to a few cms apart not 2mtrs? People allowed in with no masks on as well. I work at the hospital and I’m really surprised by how badly organised and run it was.

Thank you for taking the time to leave us feedback. I have passed your comments on to Alpa Patel who is the Vaccination Clinic Lead and she has asked me to relay the following:

"Thank you for your feedback. We have a strict policy of not allowing anyone into the vaccination centre without a mask unless they have an exemption. This is made clear by signage within the vaccination centre and enforced by all clinical staff, volunteer marshals and security staff.

I appreciate that there are still challenges with developing a queuing system that is equitable for both those who have booked appointments and those that have opted to simply drop in. We are still working on devising a system that is equitable and will listen to your comments.

Whilst efforts are made to maintain a 2m distance this is not possible in all circumstances. Again, we will listen to your feedback regarding social distancing, it is a good reminder and I will ask our team to ensure it is reinforced at safety briefings."
