"I wish they would explain things in simple terms"

About: Craigavon Area Hospital / Trauma Ward

(as a staff member posting for a patient/service user),

I have been in the Trauma ward for a few days and although my care has been excellent and I couldn't wish for better staff, the food is dreadful. I don't think it is suitable for hospital food as it is always cold when it gets to me.

The staff on the ward do everything for you immediately if you ask and they are just so friendly. The ward is kept spotlessly clean and I have been comfortable here.

The issue is that when the doctors are talking to me about my care and treatment, they often use complicated language and so I am not always clear on what is actually happening and I am often left confused. I don't think it is impressive that they know these big fancy words, I just want it in simple terms so I know what is happening.

Thank you for posting regarding your recent hospital experience.

I am sorry to read that your food arrives cold. I have discussed this with the Locality Services Manager and we will investigate.

Many thanks

Andrew
