"Recent care at Edinburgh Breast Clinic"

About: Western General Hospital / Oncology

(as the patient),

During my scheduled surgery, the care I received from the time I entered the ward until I left was exceptional. Nurses incredibly calm and reassuring. Met anaesthetist and a surgeon before going into prep room. Both of them were able to reassure me and answered all my questions without any sense of feeling I was holding them up. In prep room for GA there was even a small element of humour which helped me relax.

In the recovery room I was monitored closely by two members of the anaesthetic team. It took me a while to ‘come round’ but again all very calm and no sense of urgency or concern.

Back on the ward, again all very comfortable and well cared for

Dear Fjoh,

Thank you for your lovely feedback on your experience at the Breast Unit. It's great to know that all the staff you encountered were calm and reassuring and put you at ease. I will pass on this message to the teams involved.

Hope you are recovering well.

Best wishes,

Heather
