"Treatment received by my father in law"

About: Royal Cornwall Hospital (Treliske) / General surgery Royal Cornwall Hospital (Treliske) / Hepatology (Liver problems)

(as a relative),

My father in law is 90, he lost his wife of 73 years in February, he was admitted with a major life threatening abscess in the gall bladder and between the gall bladder and liver. Three weeks later, despite still having a drain in place, he is making great progress. He is back home on his own, although we check regularly throughout the day, he drove today and socialised with friends.

Thank you Treliske. Not easy times but you are appreciated.

Hello,

Thank you for taking the time to share you story.

I am sorry to hear of you and your father-in-law's recent loss and his need to be in hospital.

I am glad that he is now making great progress after his treatment in our hospital, and am sure the team that cared for him will be happy to hear of this too. It is always nice for them to hear that their work is appreciated.

I hope your father-in-law carries on with a good recovery and can be out socialising with friends some more soon.

Best wishes,

Zoe Richardson
