"Excellent Hospital"

About: Orthopaedics & Spine Specialist Hospital Site

I am 69 and have only had one operation which was over 40 years ago. Attending hospital for an operation is quite scary and one can feel very agitated and nervous about it. When I met my consultant he explained to me in detail the reasons why surgery was necessary, he ansered all my questions and made me feel at ease. On the day of the operation, which was only last Monday, the nurse attended to me in a professional and friendly manner. I saw my consultant again and he confirmed everything that was going to happen. After the operation the pain I had been living with was gone and the pain I had was from the wound where the hip replacement was put in. Mid afternoon the physio came to see me and I was walking in the ward with the assistance of a frame. The next day I was on crutches and walking up and down stairs. The pain was only moderate. By lunchtime on the third day I walked out of the hospital on crutches to go home. Since then I have improved markedly having need for only 1 crutch to get around. I can only say that from my consultant to the nurses and the physio at the OSSH my treatment and care were excellent. It was professional, caring, respectful and I had my privacy when required. I would recommend this hospital to anyone.

Many thanks to all at OSSH.
