"Depression after prolonged period of burnout"

About: Ealing IAPT

(as the patient),

Depression after prolonged period of burnout and inability to keep up with my responsibilities.

Burnout and stress from significant distressing events in the past couple of years led to me being unable to keep up with my responsibilities, leading to feelings of incapability, guilt and hopelessness which further prevented me from getting back on with my work. I started to fall behind in my studies, failing my exams and facing concerns of being kicked out of university, as well as starting to socially isolate myself and what not.

Ealing IAPT staff were motivated and empathetic. Along with the patient staff they were also good listeners and very supportive.

Dear lisztener99,

Thank you for taking the time to leave such an honest account of your journey. It sounds as if you have been battling significant symptoms in the past two years, and it is no surprise that so many areas of your life had been accepted.

I am glad to hear you experienced our staff as motivated and empathetic. We pride ourselves in delivering the best care possible, as quickly as possible.

I have shared your feedback with the team as I’m sure they will be very pleased to read it.

All the best,

Ealing IAPT
