"A limited number of staff but they do a great job"

About: Craigavon Area Hospital / Emergency Department

(as a staff member posting for a patient/service user),

The staff are great in Craigavon Accident and Emergency, there is a limited number of staff but they do a great job. They make you feel reassured by calling in to see how you are which is very comforting when feeling unwell. It is overall perfect, they offer you anything you want. There is a long delay getting a cubicle, I waited from 10pm the night before 7pm the next night. There should be more staff and nurses should be better paid. The staff have to deal with so much in this department including those under the influence of alcohol who verbally abuse them, the staff shouldn't have to deal with this.

Thank you very much for you kind words in relation to our staff, I apologise you had to wait for such a long time before getting assessed. The emergency department has been very busy we have had a significant number of patients waiting on trolleys for inpatient beds which has contributed to the delays and people getting seen. we hope you are recovering well.
