"It is the unknown each day that gets me"

About: Craigavon Area Hospital / 3 South Craigavon Area Hospital / Emergency Department

(as a service user),

I came from A& E up to 3 South after a 2 day wait in A& E for a bed. The staff here on 3 South are all so nice and I cant fault them at all. I do however feel like the process to my diagnosis and test results was rather slow at times and the feedback didn't come back as quick as it could have. The experience overall wasn't great but I understand some things cant be helped. Again the staff were wonderful. I feel good and I am normally a positive person but it is just the unknown each day that gets to me. I'm not sure yet what the plan is for my treatment, if any over the next 6 months. Again the MRI results seemed like a long journey and it has been quite difficult to process. I feel as if I would have liked a little more information there.

Good afternoon

Thank you for sharing your experience. We apologise you had a prolonged wait in our Emergency Department for an admission bed. Unfortunately we frequently have patients waiting too long in the department for an admission bed. We can assure you that staff are working behind the scenes to trying to reduce waiting times in the Emergency Department as much as possible.

Kind regards

Paul Smyth
