"They made me feel embarrassed and upset"

About: Specialist Therapy Services / Rushcliffe CHD Clinic

(as the patient),

I rang to check the time I should collect the event recorder from the clinic.

When I mistakenly referred to the event recorder as an ECG, the staff member I spoke to audibly sniggered and told me that it was called an event recorder. They were extremely patronising.

When I then told them the reason for my call, they questioned why I was calling and that I should have been given the time when I came in. I said I couldn’t remember so wanted to double check.

I thought their response was rude, unprofessional and unnecessary. They made me feel embarrassed and upset.

The nurse who showed me how to use the event recorder was really nice and patient. They reassured me about the process.
