"Palliative care is excellent"

About: Oakhaven Hospice Southampton General Hospital / General medicine

(as a service user),

Pallitive care at Oakhaven is excellent, so caring & kind. Open sight also very helpful. Weak link handover from southampton general, very abrupt, not much sympathy. Left feeling 'in a void'.

Thank you very much for taking the time to leave feedback regarding your experiences at Oakhaven Hospice. We take all comments seriously and strive to provide the best care that we can. I am very pleased to hear that you found our care excellent and our staff kind. We recognise sometimes handovers from busy acute hospitals can be tricky – we are so sorry to hear you were left feeling unsettled by this. It is something we can’t always control but will try hard to ensure as thorough a handover as possible from our end. If you would like to discuss this further, please do get in touch with me direct at the hospice.

With best wishes, Jenny Butler (ward manager)
