"He came across as professional, kind and compassionate"

About: Older People’s Services / Hospital at Home Northern Sector

(as a service user),

Story provided by patients family member.

"Patient" passed away on 3rd June 2021.  She received Acute Care at Home whilst in her Nursing Home.  As her next of kin, my husband and I were contacted by Doctor Khan from the Acute Care team on three occasions.  He came across as professional, kind and compassionate.  He kept us informed and sought our views on her care.  We were very impressed with the service and the standard of care.

I am very sorry to hear of the death of your loved one.

It Is particularly difficult during this pandemic to have our family and friends in Nursing Homes as visiting can be restricted.

Dr Khan is a wonderful Doctor. I am glad that you found communication with our Team satisfactory. We are aware that good and appropriate communication can make a significant difference to a patient and family during end stage care.

Dr Khan will be very pleased that he could help you on this journey. Your very kind comments will be related to him.
