"My Induction"

About: Maternity care / Maternity Ward

(as the patient),

The nurses and midwives have been very good to me on the ward. They have answered all of my questions and given me all the information that I need in preparation for my delivery. They have set me at ease about the whole process. The only thing is is that it is annoying that my husband can’t be with me throughout the entire process and has to go home, I know it’s a precaution because of the pandemic but surely women have enough to stress out about when they’re having a baby than worrying about their partner as well

Hi and thankyou for your feedback.

I am so pleased that you felt well informed and prepared for your delivery. The midwives strive to their best at all times and will be delighted with this feedback.

We now have restricted visiting within maternity. The nominated birthing partner is permitted to attend the maternity ward for one hour during the woman’s postnatal stay, this must be the same person who accompanied the lady during her birth. This hour is in addition to the 2 hours immediately after birth.

The pandemic has meant that we have to keep everything under review including visiting guidance, I hope this did not tinge your experience too much.
