"Covid 19 testing and onwards."

Attended the North Devon Covid Testing Centre at North Devon Hospital prior to a medical procedure. I have had Lateral Flow tests but this was the real deal! I found the whole thing easy if very uncomfortable, I was assured that lots of people gag and sneeze during and after swabbing, a lovely lady did the swab in a matter of moments and I was advised what to do next. Everything was clear and carefully explained I wasn't rushed and was asked several times if I was happy with everything, which I was. The only downside - where it is situated, the signage is clear but the road is narrow and windy and there are some very big lorries entering and leaving the adjacent building site who seem to think they have the right of way, nothing can be done about this I know, but worth noting if you are a first time visitor to the site. Would I use it again? Without hesitation!

Thank you so much for taking the time to provide feedback on our service. I am sorry that you found the procedure uncomfortable, although glad it was easy. I am pleased you didn't feel rushed and felt the procedure was clearly explained.
I completely agree with you that the road is less than perfect. As you can imagine the testing service was set up as a reaction to the pandemic, and we are constantly trying to improve upon the service. Traffic flow, and the safety of our patients is paramount, and for this reason we are imminently relocating to a drive-thru service within the main hospital car park to ensure smooth traffic flow.
It is thanks to feedback such as yours that we can evidence the need for these changes, so we do really appreciate your comments.

Dear Molton Maid
I am pleased to be able to update you that a change has been made relating to your feedback. The location of the covid swabbing unit has been moved to our drive-through facility located in our main car-park. The facility has been carefully designed to be both safe and convenient for patients and will remove the need to negotiate the narrow road.
