My sister was admitted to ward 108 over three weeks ago with pancreatitis and pneumonia, a ward she has been on numerous times due to her severe health issues. Unfortunately this time she was too ill to respond to treatment and so was given palliative care. Due to covid only her husband could visit at first but when it was realised that her life was nearing the end she was moved to a side room where all her family were able to visit day and night.
On behalf of my brothers and I we can't thank the staff enough, they were so kind and compassionate to us, nothing was too much trouble for them. My sister had suffered with rheumatoid arthritis since a teenager and along with pancreatitis was constantly in pain but thanks to the care she received at the end of her life she passed peacefully on 2nd July surrounded by all her loved ones. At a time when we know how difficult it is for the NHS we are so grateful. Could you please pass our appreciation to the Staff of Ward 108
