"A&E ambulance Admission"

About: Whiston Hospital / Accident and emergency Whiston Hospital / Cardiology

(as the patient),

Admitted to whiston hospital Via Ambulance service. Had to wait 2 hrs for an ambulance, First response was at my home within minutes of coming off the phone, they stayed until an ambulance came, I am newly diagnosed with atrial fibrillation so usually need to be taken I to hospital to be monitored.

I was taken in after 21. 00 hrs and had to be queued in a system in the corridors. The nursing staff was amazing and attentive, I was moved into resus shortly after 02. 30 exhausted and hoping I'd be seen by a Dr, 06. 00 and I asked if there was any likelihood of seeing a Dr and the nurse checked and said it would be another 3/4 hrs!

I decided to discharge myself as I was so tired, we'd been given one cup of juice and the hub was chaotic, couldn't rest and just couldn't wait another 4 hrs. The staff were amazing and ran that shift so well we couldn't have been in more capable hands just unfortunate that there was no Dr's to see to patients, I have no confidence in the hospital as I've seen waiting times get progressively worse.
