"Removal of keratoacanthoma"

I am extremely displeased about the lack of care from my own GP.

I highlighted an infected spot/blocked pore in April 2021. They refused to see me and asked for a photograph. When I asked them if they could 'lance' it to release the poison, they then said there was nothing they could do about it.

Over the next weeks it got bigger and bigger and more painful and I managed to get one of the other practice doctors to actually see me.

They were concerned it could be a skin cancer and sent an urgent referral to FVRH.

By June, it was getting difficult to live with the pain and another of the practice doctors suggested contacting Dermatology Appointments to say I would be prepared to take a last minute appointment if there was a cancellation.

I did this towards the end of June and was given an appointment with Dr Morton the very next day!

I saw Dr Morton who diagnosed the lump and fitted me in for surgical removal within 30 minutes!

David, (whom I have written good things about before) and Angela explained what was about to happen and then quickly completed the procedure and told me about after-care.

I was so impressed with the treatment I received from Dr Morton, David and Angela and so grateful to have this dealt with quickly once it was diagnosed.

Full marks to them (and zero marks for my own local GP).
