"Emergency care at Hairmyres"

About: University Hospital Hairmyres / Emergency Department

(as the patient),

After calling 111, I was advised to promptly attend my closest A & E and would like staff at Hairmyers A & E to be recognised for their excellent care. At a time I felt very anxious, staff helped to reassure me, nurse Jennifer was lovely and made me feel relaxed. I have had a bad experience in the past at A & E. The student nurse Sheree was very professional, so kind and caring and done a great job of making me feel at ease when I was extremely anxious and took time to ensure that I was ok - I have no doubt she will go on to be a fantastic nurse. My doctor (unfortunately I've forgotten her name) was also thorough and explained any questions I had and made sure I understood. If possible, I would like recognition towards these staff members at A & E and pass on my thanks.

Dear Leo727

Thank you for taking the time to recognise the professionalism of my colleagues. We recognise that people are often anxious when attending hospital and the staff work really hard to help allay any fears or anxieties people may have; it sounds like you have had a very positive experience.

It will be my pleasure to share your positive feedback and kind words with all the staff. It will be well received and mean a lot to them.

I hope you are now recuperating from your attendance.

Kind regards.

Lesley
