"Impossible to get past the receptionist."

About: Wideopen Medical Centre

I have been registered at this practice since birth and I am disgusted at the lack of care and respect for me as a patient. Having been concerned about a problem I tried to get an appointment with a doctor. I was told there were none available and to ring back on Monday. I called on Monday (despite working 9-5 job where it is difficult to call at 9am on a Monday) and the line was engaged for over an hour. I then reluctantly filled out an e-consult form. After a longwinded questionnaire, the auto-response said someone would contact me within 24 hours. The following day another auto response asked me to call the surgery. I called, no one answered. I called back the next day and was told I needed an over the phone triage appointment but none were left for that week, could I please call back on Monday! So around we go again. My problem is really concerning me, it cannot be seen over the phone and anyhow I've already explained it in detail via e-consult. I calmly asked how I register with another GP and asked for a complaints form. It is so frustrating when there is no compassion, when you are made to feel like your problem doesn't matter and when you are passed from pillar to post, round and round in circles just to get an appointment with a doctor. I appreciate covid has caused us all problems but the response of Dudley and Wideopen Medical Centre is disgraceful. I will now either have to sit for several hours at a walk in or go to A&E and waste their time because I'm not prepared to leave this unchecked and my doctors have no interest in hearing me out. The NHS is broken in Britain and at GP level, needs major reform.
