"Aftercare after planned section"

About: University Hospital Wishaw / Maternity Care (Wards 21-24)

(as a service user),

I had a planned section beginning of June  at Wishaw General. There were some complications which could have made it a negative experience, however, the care my daughter and I received after my section was outstanding and I truly appreciate every member of staff who looked after us. I don’t have all the names, but Stacy and the student midwife on Ward 23 were wonderful and so very kind. The nightshift staff on Ward 24 were also wonderful and could not have been kinder - nothing was too much trouble. They were so efficient and so helpful. Thank you all so much.

Dear Rms16

Firstly, congratulations on the safe arrival of your daughter and thank you for taking the time to share your feedback, at what must be a very busy and exciting time for your family.

Our staff are trained to deal with complications during surgical procedures and recognise that patients are anxious. I was therefore delighted to read that the care and attention both you and your daughter received from staff at University Hospital Wishaw was wonderful. It will be my pleasure to share your post with the staff involved in your care and I know they will be truly thankful to receive such praise and your kind appreciation of a job well done.

I hope both you and your baby are doing well at home and that you are not having too many sleepless nights! Best wishes.

Lesley
