"Still disappointed"

About: Leen View Surgery

(as a carer),

This week I took my husband to the our local drs as he is struggling to walk.

When we went into see the dr we started telling him about his problem and I said could it be part of his condition from him dementia .

The dr replied oh yes tell me about that as he is only 53 .

So I explained he was diagnosed at 49 with FTD the dr said oh is that because of alcohol.

Why!Why!Why! Does everybody think my husband is an alcoholic?

He his not a drinker and never has been .

This is the 2nd time this has happened and I understand it can be a factor to dementia but it affects my husband he has stopped wearing his lanyard because of the first incident.

You drs have notes on your patients

Please read them

I know he is young but keep your opinions to yourself please as now I have lost all faith in you.

My drs is suppose to be a dementia friendly area

I dont see that

A disappointed carer

Please accept our sincere apologies for the upset and distress you have experienced. Although some questions would need to be asked by our staff to gain information it is not our intention to cause upset to patients or their carers. To prevent this from happening in the future your comments will be discussed at the next staff meeting used as a learning point. If you would like to discuss the matter further please contact the surgery and ask to speak to the practice manager.

Kind regards

Debra Juett
