About: Warrington Hospital

I have felt the need to go out of my way to leave a review for this department.

Due to a really traumatic experience a few years ago that led to more damaged teeth having to wait to be seen because of CoVid and not being able to find an NHS dentist ANYWHERE, I had developed a very bad anxiety about coming in.

I can say that the dentist and two dental nurses were nothing less than spectacular with me. I didn’t feel rushed and I felt I was being listened to when voicing my concerns and as I have had extensive damage to my teeth I was ashamed and embarrassed to even open my mouth.

Due to exposed bone and deep set infection it created an issue putting the local in and I ended up having an anxiety attack on the chair shaking and holding my mouth and sobbing and the team were fantastic. I apologised repeatedly and they supported and reassured me throughout the whole process. They then let me have a minute to take the glasses off and calm down and wipe my eyes and I didn’t feel rushed or pushed to just get them out.

While the dentist and nurse were talking throughout the procedures another held my hand and I felt so comforted by the girl stroking my hand. I was in for a good hour and had lower right teeth extracted and an upper left which did not want to budge and had to drill to break it up and it had 3 roots.

Done under any other team I would not have been able to sit through this procedure and the girls were nothing less than angels. I am so grateful that they were there to guide me through and I look forward to living a pain free life as I had waited for this since Oct 2020.

They really do practise working with respect and dignity and I could tell they were proud to do the work they do. After worries about the NHS over the years by the public they definitely reminded me what the NHS was established for, providing excellent care to those that need it. Upkeeping the core principles and principles of quality of care provided isn’t easy when services are over run and struggling but this did not deter this department.

Thank you for restoring my faith in these services.

Dear Chelsea,

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave such a lovely review of your experience with our dental team. They are indeed 'amazing' and we are very proud of them. They will be delighted to read this but more so that they have been able to take care of you so well.

Thank you again and my apologies for delay in replying to you.

Pat, Communications Director
