I recently attend the ed in uhd. I want to give some feedback about what I encountered. There were a number of elderly patients who were there due to low blood pressure and post cardiac surgery - as the wait to be seen was a number of hours a nurse kept checking their blood pressure while waiting for a bed - each time patients were asked to stand up and walk to another part of ed - for patients that already have low blood pressure and are feeling unwell this seemed inappropriate. one patient felt very faint / low blood pressure and had no water or money to use a vending machine - I wondered would it be possible to have a water fountain to provide free clean water to patients who need to wait hours as if blood pressure is low this will only be worse sitting in a warm environment with no fluids
