"Car park machine"

I have been visiting the musculoskeletal unit twice a week for Escape Pain class which lasts one and a half hours. The machine charges £10 if you go over that same time.

I try to get out of class in time to pay.If I queue at machine I am stressed and ask to jump queue.

Last week I got to machine and it must have been one minute over so said £10. I had seen a sign on reception about over long appts so I had to go all way back to muscular skeletal reception to sort it out.

Waiting as receptionist cleared it up.

Bearing in mind I am there because of arthritic knees I do not need this level of stress.I am clock watching all through class and it is spoiling what this class is all about.

Surely there is another solution to this ridiculous situation.

Thinking of cancelling my classes because of this which is a retrograde step for my wellbeing.

Many thanks for taking the time to post your feedback regarding your visits to Barbara Castle Way Health Centre for the Escape Pain class.

I am sorry to hear of the difficulties you experienced with car parking and that you are thinking of cancelling your classes as a result. This issue has been discussed with the Physiotherapy Team Leader at Barbara Castle Way who acknowledges there is an issue with the length of the class and parking charges. In view of this they are going to reduce the length of the class slightly to allow patients more time to get to and from the car park.

If you would like to provide further information about your experience you can contact the Patient Experience team by email at patientexperience@elht.nhs.uk

Or if you prefer you can discuss further any concerns you may have about our services with our East Lancashire Hospitals Trust Customer Relations team on 01254 733700 or complaints@elht.nhs.uk who can advise you of your options in raising these concerns further.

Once again I am sorry for the difficulties you encountered and thank you for bringing this to our attention.

Kind regards
