"Saved my life"

About: Royal Victoria Hospital / Trauma & Orthopaedics

(as a service user),

This experience has more than just saved my life from the accident but also from a very bad addiction. I woke up in the Royal Hospital major trauma unit in Belfast not knowing much on what happened at first until it had been explained a few time by Doctors and nurses. I was in severe pain not able to even hold a conversation at the start I remember just thinking in my head I’d never be right again.

Lucky as I was to have AMAZING staff to help me get through everyday I was here I finally started to see hope for myself in this time of excruciating pain. Day by day together I have made if so far from where I was and I’m now I’m in positive mind-state that I will now be returning home to my family and wee son who turns one soon! I would like to also thank them for the understanding of my situation and having no judgment on me and just being there to talk to about other problems I had before the accident this team of Doctors, nurses, surgeons  Saved me in every way possible they have made my future look brighter and better if I ever met a hero in person it’s definitely use guys for me each and everyone that helped throughout these dark times I can never thank use all enough 😇 wish use all a the best of health and joy life can give in the future 😇

I'm Nathan and I'm the Lead Nurse for the Major Trauma Service.

Thank you for this amazing insight to your Major Trauma journey.

Its fantastic to hear the impact staff, on our ward, have had on your experience.

I'm a little bit bias, but I think they're pretty Amazing too!

I will share your feedback with all the staff in Major Trauma.

I wish you a speedy recovery, and hope this message finds you well

Thanks

Nathan
