"I was dreading the procedure"

About: Queen Margaret Hospital / Endoscopy

(as the patient),

Had a colonoscopy today at Queen Margaret Hospital Dunfermline. I was really dreading this procedure but I must say it was the best procedure I had ever had from start to finish. The staff in the endoscopy unit are amazing so friendly and helpful really put me at ease. The doctor who did the procedure was great she listened to my worries and I must say it was the 1st time in over maybe 20 of those I was able to watch on the screen what was happening. I normally have to have a lot of sedation but today I managed with about half of what I usually get and only once or twice felt a little discomfort.   The tea and toast that followed was much needed. Overall a great experience.

Dear cygnussh77

Thank you for taking time to feedback about your recent visit to the Regional Endoscopy Unit here at Queen Margaret. I was delighted to read that the staff were all so friendly and helpful and listened to your concerns due to previous experiences. And that the Doctor who carried out your procedure was so caring and professional that you were able to watch your examination on the screen.

The tea and toast is definitely a bonus after fasting for so long. I will take great delight passing on your kind comments to the team

Kindest regards

Ann
