"My story"

Working with my worker Larraine has always felt like she had my back in my corner and always pushed for me. We have always had a good rapport and I feel that Larraine has always wanted the best outcomes for me .

I have felt at times that I have been pushed from pillar to post but this has not been by cgl and I understand that some things are out of cgl hands and in other professionals hands such as the GP. Professionals need to work and communicate more closely with CGL.

At times I was almost suicidal and made calls as advised and to this day have not heard back!!

I am now looking forward to starting a detox funded through cgl and this cannot come soon enough, but am surprised that I have to travel so far to the detox/rehab when there would and should be availability closer. This along with how long it has taken for me to get to this stage could be quicker. I know this is not down to CGLl but to ‘The System’ and just would wish that it was quicker.

COVID has been very difficult for me and many substance users where they have felt isolated, and this has been more damaging than most could imagine.
