Urology, I had to visit Kings last Saturday due to the non arrival of my BPH drug, it was a weeks late and hence developed Urine retention. I was fitted with a catheter. ( For the first time I might add ) Service was excellent apart from the tedious registration process ( NHS111 doctor had instructed me to visit urgently and they would forward details, they never arrived!).
I was given a "Request for Consultation" sheet when I left. It had no Kings number on it , I understood I had to call, but unfortunately the extension number listed was for another department Doctors Secretary. She informed me it happened all the time! Eventually, and she really put herself to a lot of trouble, found someone in Urology who informed me that my details were not entered correctly but I would receive a call back that afternoon.
No call back so waited to midday the next day and then tried to make contact. No one picked up. So I have a device only installed due to the failure of the prescription service how am I supposed to remove it or contact anyone if they do not answer the phone?
I suggest that communication is the most important service any organisation should offer
"Hallo, anyone there ?"
